Today we take a look at the Maxfind Max2 Pro electric skateboard hands-on to see how good it is.

Electric skateboards can be very expensive. Some even crack the $1000+ mark. Many riders think they need to spend this much for a quality board, but the Maxfind Max2 Pro shows that isn’t the case. For a very reasonable price, it offers power, range, and great construction.

You can choose between two styles - a single motor edition or dual-motor edition. Let’s take a closer look at the features of both, so you can decide which one works best for you.

Range and speed

Instead of the traditional belt drive system, the Maxfind Max2 Pro has an M4 hub motor (a dual hub motor in the dual edition) that’s more compact, safer, smoother, and quieter. With the single edition, you can get a top speed up to 20 mph, while the dual edition gets up to 24mph. The dual hub motors also provide more torque, so if you get the dual edition, you can expect a climbing grade of 25%. The single has a 20% grade, which is still impressive.

The lithium-ion battery in both editions has 158.4WH with a capacity up to 4400mAh. That translates into a max range of 15 miles. The battery also has a long lifespan. For a fast charge, use the UL fast charger. It will take about 120 minutes. When you’re riding, the electronic regenerative braking system helps keep the battery at a good level. If the battery does run out while you’re riding, you can kick to the side and use the Max2 Pro like a regular skateboard.

Construction

Maxfind took inspiration from the Cadillac diamond-cutting design. Instead of the normal maple deck, you’ll see on most electric skateboards, the Maxfind Max2 Pro uses a strong plastic composite. It’s also eco-friendly.

Combined with the carbon fiber coating, you get strength and good looks. The deck length is 31-inches. Replacing the IP65-waterproof cover tyre on the motor is easy. Simply remove five screws using the tools that come with the board.

What about the wheels? They measure 90mm, so they’re 15% larger than standard booster wheels. The diameter is also wider, which means you can smoothly ride across ride riding conditions like cracks in the road, turf, and railway tracks. The forged Max Truck II is also impressive with its superior construction and increased impact resistance. It’s stable even at high speeds and gets around corners easily.

The board itself weighs 12 pounds (single edition) or 14 pounds (dual edition). This makes it a very lightweight board, even with the dual hub motors. The single edition can hold riders up to 176 pounds, while the dual is designed for up to 220 pounds.

Safety

Electric skateboards can be dangerous, so you should always wear protective gear like a helmet, wrist guards, elbow pads, and more. The Maxfind Max2 Pro has a few features that make your ride safer. Each part of the board is waterproof, shockproof, and dustproof. The battery has an IP65 rating, as does the hub motor.

The rubber plastic sandpaper on the board is also designed with an anti-slip function, but it doesn’t scratch your clothes or hands. Thanks to design features like this, you’ll be safer on a variety of road conditions.

Remote control

You control electric skateboards via remote control. The Maxfind Max2 Pro’s remote is ergonomic and comes with a lanyard. Choose between three speed modes designed for beginners and more experienced riders. Features like precise gear speed limit and hall wheel throttle give you more control, while the support dual-band FM protects against disconnection.

The controller is simple to use but it would be nice if it had a display that could show the current battery level, speed setting and your current speed. It's really the only thing the remote control lacks.

Customer service

Maxfind skateboards have a 180-day warranty. If you experience quality issues, Maxfind says to email them directly and they’ll give you free replacement parts once the problem is identified. After the warranty is up, they will still offer replacement parts at a low price.

On their website, you can find frequently asked questions and information on shipping. Within the US, they offer free shipping with arrival between 3-5 days. In Canada, the EU, and Australia, transportation costs go up by $60. Pricing can change based on policies.

Downsides

We didn’t find much to dislike about this skateboard, especially since it comes at such a fair price. The one thing we were a bit disappointed with is that the speed doesn’t increase that much on the dual edition. It only goes up by 4 mph.

The climbing grade is improved and the board holds more weight, but if you’re hoping for a significant speed increase, you won’t find it.

Who should buy the Maxfind Max2 Pro?

It looks like the Maxfind Max2 Pro was designed with college students in mind. It’s got a good range and speed for students looking for a way to get around campus quickly. Most people around this age are on a budget, but they don’t want a cheap, flimsy board either. The Maxfind Max2 Pro offers great quality for the price. Other people will love this board for that reason, not just college students. Maxfind recommends riders be at least 13-years old if they’re going to use it without adult supervision.

If you live in a hilly area, you weigh more than 176 pounds, or you want a little bit extra speed, the dual edition is the best choice. If you don’t need the extra torque and weigh 176 pounds or less, the single edition is only 4 miles slower than the dual. It costs a bit less.

Final verdict

This is a great electric skateboard for anyone who doesn’t want to break the bank. Available in two motor styles (single and dual), it offers at between 20-24 mph and a 15-miles range. Maxfind put a lot of work into different construction details like the deck materials, large wheels, and safety features.

The Maxfind Max2 Pro offers a smooth, safe ride that’s fun for everyone! All in all, it's one of the best entry-level electric skateboards on the market today.
